Literature Text

O, maiden of golden-haired wonder,
a figment of the desperate mind,
the bane of your society, the thunder
of reality’s dangerous, unknown kind.
Must your hand continue to brush
these wispy secrets, betraying lies?
Must your insatiable desire rush
the looming shadow spelling your demise?
Always, does it rain inside your head?
You’re heart is broken by the truth you see
with eyes wide open and waiting, emerald irises bleed,
watching the frantic minds, already dead.
You know that in this world you shouldn’t be,
and soon, my misfit maiden, it will cry for thee.
I wanted to experiment with my writing, and being a lover of Shakespeare, decided to attempt a sonnet, somewhat of my own design (if I had attempted iambic pentameter, the work wouldn't even exist. XD). It focuses on a beloved character of mine that I'm killing off for the benefit of a plot line.
